Berlin Underground HipHop 1997-2003

After the commercialization of the Hip Hop movement in America, the Rap & Hip Hop subculture accrues in Germany in the early 80’s.
As in the 90’s the HipHop movement in Germany became popular, Berlin still stayed underground. Anyway Berlin is different from Germany. The scene in Berlin is inspired by “gangsta rap” from America. Soon the battle rap established in Berlin. More and more crews & labels originated, the best-known crews, groups & labels are: Masters of Rap (MOR), Die Sekte, Westberlin Maskulin, Beatfabrik, Royal Bunker, Bassboxxx, Berlin Crime and many more. Is there any more to it?
Yes, the subculture still exists today and it goes on with flows, battleraps, beats, punch lines, crews, graffiti and love to rhyme and rhythm.
For my audience I added a short list of some of the best LP’s & EP’s of the Berlin HipHop culture from 1997 till 2003.
